Celebrating Culture, Womanhood, and Artistic Expression:
GalleryLumina’s Bangladeshi Arts Showcase
GalleryLumina continues its mission of amplifying minority voices and celebrating womanhood through art, proudly representing women artists from both local and international communities. Rooted in a commitment to cultural expression and gender equality, the gallery creates space for stories that are often overlooked—embracing identity, resilience, and creativity without compromise.
In January and February 2026, GalleryLumina turned its focus toward the vibrant heritage of Bangladeshi arts and culture. Through a series of engaging art activities and participation in cultural events, the gallery highlighted the richness of Bangladeshi traditions while honoring the powerful role of women within this cultural narrative. These events served not only as artistic showcases but also as meaningful platforms for dialogue, connection, and cultural pride.
The celebration concludes with a lively and immersive evening dedicated to arts and culture—bringing together community members, artists, and supporters for a memorable experience filled with creativity, performance, and shared heritage. This evening highlights how stories can be painted, emotions shaped into form, and culture expressed through every piece—featuring remarkable Bangladeshi women artists alongside internationally recognized artists,
Kanak Chanpa Chakma
Farida Zaman
Nasreen Begum
At the heart of this initiative is Lumina Arts Space, an organization led by two passionate Bangladeshi artists, Dina Zaman and Zakia Sultana. Their journey reflects a deep commitment to supporting women in the arts and uplifting underrepresented voices. Based in Columbus, Ohio, they continue to champion local artists while fostering inclusivity and representation for minority communities.
Through their work, GalleryLumina is not only showcasing art—they are building a movement that celebrates diversity, empowers women, and strengthens cultural understanding across communities.
As part of this season’s celebration, Gallery Lumina also recognized outstanding artists through its awards. Ferdousi Islam was named Artist of the Month for January 2026, while the Lumina Award 2026 was presented to Shantwana Shahrin. With the thoughtful involvement of juror Khaila Carr, these recognitions highlight the depth, diversity, and evolving narratives of women in art across cultures.
We warmly welcome our local communities to come and celebrate arts with us.
